Scotton Scorchers would sincerely like to thank Jonathan Parkin his wife Jo, and their 2 daughters Connie Parkin who plays in the Under 11 girls and her twin sister Lizzie Parkin for cycling from Liverpool to Leeds on 10th June this year.
The Family set off from Liverpool at 8 am on 10th June Friday
morning reaching their first stop to stay the night at the Red Lion in Parbold. After another day of tiresome peddling their second night
was spent at The Maple Lodge in Clayton-le-Moor. Finally their third stop was reached when they spent their last night at the Premier Inn in
Gargrave, to finally travel the 38 miles left to cycle from there back in to Leeds finishing Monday afternoon at 3 pm. What a fantastic achievement!!!!!
Apart from getting drenched on the first and
second days and a couple of punctures along the way everything went very well and they all really enjoyed
the whole experience travelling the 127 miles in total along the Leeds Liverpool canal path.
Connie & Lizzie are now both going to do a presentation of their journey to
their class mates at their school as they were given special permission to be off school by
their head teacher.
WELL DONE TO YOU ALL
