Girls U12 - KAYLEIGH IS BACK!!!

Pannal Sports were visitors to Scotton in this friendly match. Scorchers and Pannal having seen alot of each other this season also meeting in the cup. Pannal who are vying for the top of the league got off to a strong start, causing problems for Hayley in goal who pulled off a string of fine saves in the first half. The defence were stretched with Rebecca (player of the day) and Emily being put under constant pressure. Caitlin and Melissa worked hard in midfield trying to break up Pannal's attacks. Shannon and Abbie were given few opportunities to get in to attacking positions but worked extremely hard. In the second half supersub and last years top scorer Kayleigh came off the bench to score an excellent goal. With Hayley now in midfield threading the ball between the Pannals defenders for Kayleigh to run on to, Kayleigh coolly put the ball wide of the keeper giving her no chance. The goal was no more than the girls deserved working hard against a quality opposition. Philippa in goal for the second half made some brilliant saves, on one occasion diving low to the left to keep the ball out. The final meeting with Pannal will take place on Sunday the 11th of March.
