Scorchers' Girls beat Old Mods!

Scotton Scorchers Girls U10's 2
Old Modernians Girls U10's 1

Friendly match.

For the second match in a row Daisy Cooper took the Player of the Match award with a hardworking display in which she set up a goal and scored one too.

Old Modernians who are joint favourites with Scotton to win the Harrogate league held Scotton to a draw in the last league fixture. The Scotton girls were really fired up for this match and tore into the Old Mods defence. During the first half the attacking trio of Kirstie, Georgia and Georgie ran at the Old Mods defence with gusto. The breakthrough came when Daisy found Georgie with a drilled pass and Georgie scored with one touch. Shortly afterwards Daisy blasted a screamer from outside the box into the top corner. The quality of Scotton's passing and moving was at times excellent and Old Mods were relieved when the ref blew for half time.

In the second half the hardworking Rebecca was replaced with Molly who joined Daisy in midfield and Georgia replaced Jayde in goal. Old Mods pulled one back when the Scorchers' one man defence of Ellie Churchill was finally breached. However, the girls easily held on to their lead and celebrated one of their best wins.
