Scorchers U10 Girls top league with great win!

Killinghall Nomads Under 10's 0
Scotton Scorchers Under 10's 5

Despite enduring chilly weather in unfriendly surroundings the Girls hammered their opposition 5 nil to go top of the league. They are now one point away from winning their league and play Nomads at the cricket ground in two weeks.

With Daisy in goal, Rebecca and Molly in defence,Georgia in midfield and Josie,Mollie and Kirstie in attack the girls dominated the first half and went in 1 goal up through a Georgia strike. The team kept their shape and played some good passing football. At half time on came Jayde in goal, Daisy in midfield, Hannah and Ellie in defence and Georgie and Kirstie with Georgia up front. In the second half Nomads were blown away by superb passing and link up play by the girls. Ellie scored a contender for goal of the season with a shot from just inside the nomads half that gained applause from supporters of both teams. Georgie scored a hatrick which included a brilliant team goal that involved lovely passing between Georgia, Daisy and Georgie. The excellent defence of Ellie and Hannah kept Nomads out. Kirstie went on several of her trademark runs and came close to scoring and Daisy kept pushing forward and launching great corners in for the attack. A fantastic display - well done to all our girls!

Player of the Match - Georgie Ryan.

There is no training on Easter Saturday and the final league game is fixed for the Saturday after at the Cricket ground in Scotton. The girls need only to draw to win the Harrogate Under 10's league and we ask for as much support as possible for this massive match. Come on the Scorchers!
