At long last Scotton Scorchers have won a league title with an epic match against a rejuvinated Nomads side. Four goal hero Georgia (who hit a great long range volley past the keeper) led the way with a huge performance against a Nomads side who refused to give up and led to some serious nailbiting on the sidelines!
Molly W played in Daisy's (who sadly had to miss the match) midfield position and played superbly well. She impressed with her fast runs and excellent tackling - she literally gave her all and earned her Player of the Match award. Georgie again was a threat on the left and contributed a goal too.Kirstie was industrious down the right and helped set up a couple of goals. Mollie SM worked hard again in her time on just before half time and led the cheerleading on the sidelines!
The defence of Ellie,Hannah and Rebecca were kept busy but tackled with a lot of commitment and Jayde made a couple of important saves that kept the two teams apart.
Celebrations to the background music of We are the Champions erupted on the final whistle and champagne corks were popped! Well done the Scorchers!
Next match- Cup Semi Final against Knaresborough Celtic 11.30 KO at the Village Hall pitch on Saturday 21st April.
