Girls - U12 Scorched by Red Hot Nomads!!

The Scorcher girls knew they were in a battle from the first kick, with Nomads laying seige to the Scorchers goal throughout the game. However the girls stuck to the task and never let their 'heads drop'. With Philippa fit and back in goal, and a new defensive partnership of Rebecca and Imogen the new defensive team had a very busy time. With the midfield of Hayley and Emily being pulled back to defend Scorchers were limited to only rare attacks on goal. Shannon and Kayleigh worked hard up front but couldnt get through the solid Nomad defence. Even super subs Caitlin, Melissa and Abbie couldn't stem the Nomad attacks and create any effective attacks of their own. With the goal count rising the girls stuck to the task (playing for 20 minutes of the first half without conceding a goal) and didnt give up, leaving the field exhausted at the final whistle. Whilst it was a tough game it was played in fine spirit by everyone and Scorchers minimum objective of improving on this seasons earlier fixture score with the Nomads was achieved. All the girls can be pleased with the improved scorelines in the last two games. Shannon was named player of the day. Next up its Pannal Sports on the 17th Feb, where some of the girls who have recently been subs will play the full game.
